Marrey to the fore at Loughrea Olympic distance Triathlon.

In only his 2nd ever Triathlon Padraig Marrey who is a well known cyclist used his cycling strength to come 3rd at the recent Loughrea event.

Olympic distance covers 1mile swim, 40k cycle and 11k run

Marrey was 55th out of the water, but after a blistering cycle he was up to third which he held in the run to the finish.

The Neale were well represented with the Casey brother’s combining to put a relay team together, Clive did the swim and Ronan did the cycle, Triathlon has taken Ireland by storm over the last few years. Ballina is Mayo’s only Tri Club, calling itself liquid motion.

Ballinrobe is the ideal location for a Triathlon club, with close proximity to 3 lakes and has beautiful safe cycling roads.

Hopefully like minded people will get together to set up one.
