Connemara Rough Diamond Funventure

Funventure is a phenomenon where Fun Run meets Adventure Race.
It is a multi-dimensional mix of biking, running, and a few quirky
obstacle courses thrown in for good measure and good humour,
designed for those who want an athletic challenge and accessible to
those who want to have some fun giving this challenge a go.
 
Saturday 28th August
Starting at Lettergesh Beach, Renvyle
Ending in Letterfrack
 
The event course will take from 1.5 - 3.5 hours and will appeal
to anyone who likes to have fun in the outdoors.
The event covers a 28.5km distance in total, beginning on
Lettergesh Beach with a Quiet Man themed Human Steeple
Chase commemorating 60 years since the filming of the Quiet Man
race scene on this beach. It is followed b a 21km bike ride,
an assault curse in Kylemore woods and a 7.5km hike
to the summit of the Diamond in Connemara National park.
 
The rough Diamond experience continues with a prize giving
after party in the Rough Diamond Marquee on the lawn of
Connemara West in Letterfrack village. The surrounding pubs
will provide an eclectic mix of music in festival style from
traditional to contemporary, catering for all tastes.
A charity donation will be made to Croi.
