The first annual Clew Bay half marathon will take place on Saturday August 6th 2011. The race will start and finish in Louisburgh
in Co. Mayo on the south coast of Clew Bay. The course will be run over a variety of landscapes ranging from north Connemara bogland to winding seaside roadways overlooking Clare Island and south Clew Bay.
There will be prizes for overall male and female winners as well as category prizes for male and female under 20, over 40 and over 50.
There will also be a relay race compromising 3 x 4 mile stages with prizes for the first 3 relay teams.
Ample car parking will be provided as well as hot shower facilities after the race. All contestants will a finishers medal and refreshments after the race.
Drink stations and toilet facilities will be provided along the route.
The relay race will start at 11 am and the half marathon at 12 noon.
Registration will cost €40 per person and will close on July 16th.

The race is being organised as a fundraiser for a local Astroturf facility as well as other local charities.
