Auction For Lance Armstrong Signed Jersey
600 km to be completed in less than 20 hours
On Friday evening the 26th June at 5.00 p.m. Cyclists from all over Ireland will be attempting to break the time record of 20 hours to cycle from Mizen Head in County Cork to Malin Head in Co. As part of the fundraising effort the Association have acquired an autographed photograph of Lance Armstrong together with Certificate of Authenticity. This photograph will be auctioned during and after this challenge. The closing date for bidders is Sunday 28th June at 5.00 p.m. It is hoped that this will generate interest in the cycle challenge and more importantly generate funds for the Mayo Cancer Support Association Funds. Lance Armstrong having battled with cancer twice has offered this support in recognition of the tremendous effort on the part of the cyclists. Lance Armstrong has won the Tour de France on 7 occasions and will aim to increase the tally this year to a record breaking 8 times.
